Since the old calendar had many issues and was a pain to use, I have found a new calendar to use. If you click the button in the welcome message above, you will be taken to the new calendar.

This calendar is much easier to enter information in and so my hope is that it will be kept up to date.

My distributor is having their 2007 Games Day in Madison. This is a day when all the manufacturers come and meet with store owners. They show some of the new games and we have plenty of face time with them. It will be this Thursday and Friday, September 13 and 14. I will be attending this again this year and so we will be closed on Thursday and Friday. We will be back open on Saturday.

We will be hosting the Magic the Gathering 10th edition game day.

There will be a sealed tournament starting at noon. It will cost 17 dollars to enter the tournament and you will get 5 packs of cards to make a 40 card deck. Land will be supplied. Everyone will get 30 minutes to make their deck and then we will probably have 4 rounds of the tournament. We will then have a top 4 playoff to determine the champion. This will be a DCI tournament, we will have DCI cards for those that need them.

The winner of the tournament gets a magic backpack. The Top 4 finishers will all get magic deck boxes and a 10th edition life counter. Four other random players will also get 10th edition life counters. We will also have some booster prizes depending on how many people are in the tournament.

We will also be having a sealed league so that people that can not make the tournament of people that have dropped the tournament can still play. League entry is also 17 dollars and you also get 5 boosters to make a 40 card deck. You get 2 points for a win and 1 point for a loss. After every 5 losses you can buy another booster to add to your deck. The league winner will also get a backpack. There will also be other prizes.

The Game Escape will be closed Friday May 25th, Monday May 28th and Tuesday May 29th. We will be open Saturday May 26th and Sunday May 27th.

I will be going to Arizona to visit my dad now that he has recovered enough from his surgery that I wont be watching him sleep all day.

Saturday April 21st - Noon. Anachronism Tournament. The format is a five warrior Muhammad Ali Invitational. This means that only warriors with the "The Great" in their name can be used. That list includes: Alexander the Great, Alfred the Great, Canute the Great, Catherine the Great, Cyrus the Great, Darius the Great, Geat King Beowulf (I know this may not be correct, but it is close), Mithradates VI the Great, Peter I the Great, Stephen the Great, Theoderich der Grosse

Sunday April 22nd - 1pm Dreamblade Tournament. Sealed using the newly released expansion. 3 boosters for $35.

Saturday April 28th - Noon Open D&D Roleplaying.

Saturday May 5th - Noon Warmachine/Hordes Combined 750 pt Tournament.

We are looking at restarting Friday Night Magic, it will probably be unofficial. I am looking at having it every 1st and 3rd Friday nights. I am also looking at doing WoW Trading Card Game on the 2nd and 4th Friday nights. I will be starting posts in the forums, please let me know if you are interested.

We will be hosting a free Dreamblade "Trilogy" Tournament on Sunday March 18th at 1pm.

It is a constructed tournament where your warband must consist of 6 pieces from the original set, 5 from Baxars and 5 from Chrysotic.

Sunday January 7 - Anachronism

The Winter Gauntlet starts this coming Sunday, January 7th. The first tournament is being hosted at The Game Escape in Crystal Lake. Start time is noon. The format for this tournament is best 3 of 5 Set Shock. That means you will need five warriors all from the same set. All of their associated support cards must come from the same set as well. Promo cards can be used, and are considered to be from the set that is printed on them. Thus a card like Saif, with number 6 P42/100, is considered to be from set six, even though the rest of the Saracen cards are in set five.

Saturday January 13 - Warmachine Tournament

500 pt Warmachine Steamroller tournament. Saturday January 13th at 1pm. Entry fee is $5 and we will have the coins for the champions. We will be using chess clocks again to keep the event flowing.

Sunday January 28 - Dreamblade Expansion 2 release tournament

We will be hosting a sealed Dreamblade tournament on Sunday January 28th starting at 1pm. The entry cost will be $35 and will include 3 boosters of the new expansion.

October 22nd will be our 1 year anniversary of opening. During this first year we have accumulated a lot of excess stock. Some are games that we are not going to carry any longer while others are games that I have to many of. We will be marking all of the excess stock with a label and it will all be 50% off of its normal price. My hope is to clear out a bunch of stock. This sale will be starting Friday October 20th and running through the end of the month.

The Game Escape will be hosting a Dreamblade Edge tournament on Saturday September 2nd. We will be starting at noon. It will be a sealed event. The cost will be $30. For that you will recieve a starter and a booster(normal cost $45) to make a 16 figure army out of. The event will be swiss style so you will get to play a number of games. The games will be 50 minute rounds and we will play a number of rounds to be determined by hte number of players.

If you have never played dreamblade and would like to play this will be a great opportunity. Show up early and we will teach you the game and you can play in the tournament.
